Layers and Elements

SonicLoops are created by utilizing the concept of layers and elements.

You have 3 layers to work within, think of them like layers you’d find in most graphical editing programs.

Each layer can hold 2 elements.

Elements are categorized into 4 main categories they are:

  • Geometry Elements
    • Static Mesh
    • Animated Mesh
    • Mesh Import
    • 3D Text
    • KTV
  • Dynamic Elements
    • Particle bursts
    • Audio visualizations
    • Generators
  • Lighting Elements
    • Ambient lighting rigs
    • Point light rigs
  • Environment Elements
    • Backgrounds
    • Image Plates
    • Video Plates

Elements range from simple primitives to complex generators, but in general you’ll be surprised at the visualizations you can create with just one or two Elements.

! IMPORTANT ! Currently Layers are divided into Foreground, Midground and Background purely to differentiate the layers for isolation purposes. Currently there is no depth sorting between these layers. All Elements exist within the same 3D space and can be moved independently using the Transform controls. Some effects like 3D Text and Audio Bars will always draw on top of all other Elements for readability.
